The Get-Go

The Get-Go - Steeped in 1960’s mod roots playing firing Blues Rock. The south London trio comprising singer/guitarist Stuart Farnham, Singer/bassist Brian Hall and drummer Richard Metcalfe draw there influences from the Soho club scene of the early 1960’s. Their debut album ‘Three’s a Crowd’ received critical acclaim and was listed in the top 50 blues albums of 2012 compiled by ‘Classic Rock Presents The Blues’.

They make exhilarating blues rock, the kind that would have got the audience in a lather down the Marquee and Crawdaddy back in the ’60s. There second album, Typically English, due out Autumn 2013,  includes originals with titles such as   and Ain't No Fool that reveal strong songwriting skills, with echoes of the British Blues Scene; guitars hint at Peter Green and Bluesbreakers-era Eric Clapton; there’s some Yardbirds and Chicken Shack in the mix too. A cover of the Lovin’ Spoonful’s Summer In The City, meanwhile, reveals them fine interpreters, but their real strength lies in their diminutive singer Stuart Farnham. His expressive vocal delivery marks him out as a great soul-blues vocalist, think Steve Marriott and Paul Rodgers, yes he is this good.
